Fantastic!
thank you for watching @stefaniaponitz5738 and the kind words.
I cant use the bandoleer cause theres a pair of shootrrs but how much do theshoulder rigs run???? Ill go see if i can find a web site
Hi @double-eagle-dave please contact us directly through the website for pricing. The shoulder rigs are not in the Online store as they have too many moving parts and options and we highly suggest to talk to Mark before ordering. You can contact us here: www.beavermountainworks.com/contact/
Thanks. Very thoughtful. On the pull through loops which are not sewn, do they stay? Do they just rely on the form to keep from loosening? Seems with a few rounds out they could work. Or do you glue them? Thanks, Mark
Thanks for watching Mark, no the loops are not sewn or glued, they stay as they are. First off one has to make sure the leather is cut the right way so that it less likely stretches, then Mark uses the cartridges to form the loops and he says it needs just the right amount of tightness around it and lastly the loop-band is sewn at either end (not between the loops but at the end each end). We're making these loops like this for almost 20 years and they all stay even after all these years.
Great video, thank you
Thanks so much for watching Jeff
I measure at 40 with options o 38 and 42. Which do I choose?
Hi, if you measure 40 then your gun belt would be a 44
Love you innovative ideas I have some ideas about a leg holster, For a magnum research bfr 444marlin, scoped. I have been trying to find an attachment or a pouch pocket to hold a wonderbar (flatbar) have you ever made one
Hi @merleschmidt5810 thanks for watching our videos. Our motto is: You dream it and we make it! Over the years Mark has made so many things and yes also pockets and holders for flatbars. For example check out this video: ruclips.net/video/mR9MFHOpVHE/видео.html
Hi there thanks for the reply, and the link to the video. The weird part is that is the same video that I first saw that I posted my comment thread on. The video doesn't answer the question of whether there has ever been a pocket made for a Wonderbar (flatbar) which is different from a catspaw. I did find it interesting that the cat snuck by about 10 seconds after the cats paw was mentioned. It was almost purrfect
I have terrible luck doing loops 😢
sorry to hear that Thomas, like most things, it needs a lot of practice, don't give up.
Good idea. I am about to make a money belt and was thinking of doing basically the same thing instead of stitching onto the belt itself. My thought was that, with the added flexibility of the money belt, it would be better to have the loops on a thicker, stiffer strip of leather that also sets the cartridges away a bit more. Also, love your shop setup! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words, and way to go on your money belt project 👍
Nice double rig. I like the red shirt, too. Question for you: I making my first rig, which happens to be a buscadero. How snug should the rig be? Should it go over the entirety of your pants belt, or slope to one side? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for watching Robert, here a message direclty from Mark: Robert. awesome you’re making your own rig. The buscadero rig was & is used by many cowboys that were more gunslingers. not very practical when riding a horse and shooting from that position. As the belt is a lot wider than the normal belts 3” to 3-1/2” and because you are wearing 2 guns the belts were more straight. even though some were tapered curved top to bottom. The single holster belts were also this way but 2-1/4 to 2-3/4 wide. the slant off the holster side made it easier to ride in a saddle and draw from that position. Tandy leather sells really good patterns for all these styles. If you have anymore questions please go to our website for our contact info. Thxs for checking out our videos & keeper shooting straight. Mark.
How does that not just slide forward and come loose?
Thanks for watching Craig. It does not slide forward or come loose because you install the butt sleeve around the sling stud. But even if there is no sling stud, the friction that happens between the (flesh-side of the) leather and the wood of the stock keeps the sleeve in place. That's why you have to put the sleeve on snug just as Mark explains in the video. We hope that helps.
What type of leather use to make frog ?
the sheath is 6oz and the frog is 8oz Veg tan cow leather
What is the jacket you are putting on around 2:19 / 5:31?
Thanks for watching @rasterman1016 it is a Cowboy Duster in oil slick 3/4 length (so you don't kneel on it in the bush), some people call it an Aussie Outback
@@Beavermountainworks Looks very nice. I have a Duster. Purchased the Duster down the 'Texas road' (<-means a few Counties over) in Downtown Dallas, TX around 2001 but I have not seen one such as the one you wear. Yours is short and mine is just past the boot rim. Little long but works. At first glance, it looks like Outback Tradings Co. has something similar with a price tag of +$200.00. Anyway, thanks for the info.
How must for something like that?
Thanks for watching @ronhayes3939 please check out our website or call Mark directly we are not giving prices here in the comment section www.beavermountainworks.com
Just finished installing my first ammo cuff. Wouldn't have been able to do it without your detailed instructions. Thanks very much!!
that is so awesome, way to go, and thanks for watching
I dont have the money atm but one thing I think would be amazing for the axe is a leather strap that fits snug around the hand guard that you fit your fingers through to make cycling the lever easier.
thanks for watching, we think you might be talking about a lever wrap, which we offer as a kit on our website and Mark talks about this shortly in this video here: ruclips.net/video/sIzLRArfVZo/видео.html
@@Beavermountainworks not quite what I was thinking. Think of a strap that holds your non firing hand holding onto the wooden handguard underneath the barrel so you can action the lever without having to grip the handguard as much or putting the gooseneck on your hip.
@@killpidone oh so you're talking about the forestock, yes Mark has done that before, remember our motto is: you dream it - we make it. Give Mark a call when you're ready

thanks for watching @EDCtexan and yes of course we can do it for a shockwave, did that actually last year. Call Mark to chat with him about it.
Thank you for recording these series of videos, however wish I could have seen the dying process
Thank you for watching Karl, i think you see Mark dying something in other videos but I will put it on the list and we might make a separate video of it.
Did you ever create the plaque/medallion episode? I can't seem to find it.
Thank you for watching, I am actually not sure myself LOL
whats the measurements?
Thanks for watching @CJB Tattoos USA. The measurements are: 17" tall 10-1/2" at top, 8-1/2" at bottom. This includes a 1/2" sweing overlapping. Hope that helps.

Question for doing cartridge loops - I am using Tandy dye and then resolene sealant. I have found if I leave cartridges in the cartridge loops in a rifle buttstock wrap, where the leather is touching the cartridges turns green - any suggestions for making this not happen?
Hello @Jason Herrington, thank you for this question. Yes, this is a chemical reaction over time if you leave the brass in. We suggest to all our clients to not leave rds in over long periods without removing & cleaning for that reason.
@@Beavermountainworks Ah thank you! Any suggestions for cleaning the brass if they have been left in for awhile and have green buildup?
@@jasonherrington2002 Mark says to use a clean cotton rag & a little solution on the rag that is used for brass cleaning cartridges in a tumbler. But please use safety precautions don’t submerge the cartridges & insure they are clean & inspected before using them.
@@Beavermountainworks I ended up yesterday using a paper towel with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on it and it seemed to take the buildup off quickly. Thank you for the info!

I'm looking to buy a grizzly bear paw stamp how much will it cost
Hi Allen, we don't sell stamps, we suggest you contact Tandy Leather, they might sell it or will be able to tell you where you can buy one.
Hey great little video ..umm if i can ask .what material is the back made of on motorcycle saddlebag ? its it acrylic have you ever replaced the backing on a bag ?
Thanks for watching @Honda200TwinStar, yes I have replaced the backin on a bag before. Commercially made bags are often not real leather in my experience. Some backings are are imitation leather with cardboard or hard plastic stiffener inside, others are a made from plastic, depending on the manufactor. Some backings are sewn onto the bag and others rivited depending on their quality. Most bags are not really manufactured for long term heavy use but mainly to only look good and have the bikes brand logo on it. To know how a bag is made and if I am able to repair it I would have to see it. All bags are made in stages, just like clothing, therefore repair can be costly and sometimes impossable.
@@Beavermountainworks hey thanks fella for the reply and that anwsers my question as if some are made from plastic or styrean my one bag has i think 2 long cracks in it that the previous owner tried repair with a not stiff enough patch of plastic over the crack and clued and rived into place ,but the patch as i said not stiff enough so it sage .or no support. So its not any kind of special 1/4'' plastic?
@@honda200twinstar3 Well as we said, we would need to see the bag to know. But, we've had clients do DYI repairs on these bags using a piece of Kydex.060 or .093 inch thickness. You can find Kydex at your local Tandy Leather Factory store. You can glue and rivited it on. If you have more questions specific to your bag feel free to contact us by phone or email.

love your belts! after years of hand me down leather equipment, I'm finding rivets an metal rusting out. even good metal, rusting too leather acids! I would like best rust proof metals used or no metal at all with leather rapes an knots!
Thanks for your kind words @Tim Barnett. So yes the use of metal on leather will over time rust due to many reasons. I find that brass works not any better than steel rivets. I’ve found that stainless steel lasts a little longer. Keeping the leather clean, dry and storing it in dry warm place will help prevent it. Sewing or lacing is the best but it takes longer to do, but be aware, lace can break down as well if the leather isn’t looked after.
